personal investors
The Share Centre is the main trading arm of the Share plc group, and we serve two core audiences, personal investors and companies, with a range of services designed to help provide easy access to the stock market
We make it easy for investors to buy and sell stock market investments by providing a range of value for money services all with the added bonus of free expert advice on UK shares.
And it's not just today's investors we care about. Education is important to us. In addition to offering free share advice to customers, we also run Shares4Schools, an investment competition for Year 12 students.
The Shares4Schools competition gets students talking about current economic issues as they invest for real in the stock market. Starting with £1500 raised from business sponsorship, teams compete in regional and national leagues between October to June to see who can grow their money the most.
Doing it for real adds a dynamic to the competition that doesn't come from investing 'fantasy' pounds. Their decisions have a real impact, increasing or decreasing the actual value of their investments.
So as well as learning about investing, students aquire valuable life skills too, like team-working, analysis, judgement and decision making.
companies
For Companies we provide a range of services, from enabling them to tap into employee share ownership schemes to raising fresh capital and even providing back-office administration for Fund Managers.
Employee share schemes can help businesses recruit, reward and retain employees in ways that help build long-term involvement and loyalty.
Our ShareMark service provides cost-effective equity trading too.
Originally developed to provide an internal market for Share plc shares, ShareMark is a ground-breaking share trading facility designed specifically to meet the needs of small and medium-sized companies. It operates through an electronic auction market, matching buyers and sellers at a single price, and is a low-cost, simple and accessible way for smaller companies to provide a market place for their investors to buy and sell their shares. ShareMark can even provide a 'closed market' where only eligible participants can trade.
