Your questions answered:

When did the transfer take place?

The transfer took place in early March 2010 and all ex-Wills customers who had any investments or cash transferred to The Share Centre should have received an account valuation and cash statement.

What do I have to do?

You don't need to do anything. Your Wills & Co. account will automatically transfer to The Share Centre. We'll provide you with our terms of business, details of our tariffs and all the help and support you need.

Will I get any extra services?

Yes. Once you're with us you'll have access to The Share Centre's full range of services including:

  • ISAs, Child Trust Fund Accounts, Self Invested Personal Pensions
  • Online share dealing and 24 hour access to your portfolio
  • Optional investment advice from our expert Advisors at no extra cost
  • A great range of online investment selection tools
  • Optional automatic reinvestment of dividends
  • Some great deals on Unit Trusts and OEICs
  • A Regular Investment service, with commission charges from as little as £1 per month

Can I get advice about my investments?

Yes. Our team of qualified Advisers are available to discuss your present and future investments at no extra cost. You'll need to complete and return the ‘advice registration form’ already sent to you.

Will my charges change?

Yes. As soon as your account is transferred you'll enjoy The Share Centre's competitive dealing commission rates of 1% with a minimum of just £7.50. The administration charges are very reasonable too – just £2.50 plus VAT each quarter. In addition, there's also a Trader option which gives you a flat rate dealing commission of just £7.50 for deals up to £25,000 in return for a quarterly charge of £20 plus VAT.

How can I access my account?

Once your account has been transferred, you'll be notified of your new Customer Reference number. Should you wish to access your account online, call us on 08456 185 190 and we will send you a PIN.

For extra security, when you first log in, you will be asked to choose a memorable word of at least eight characters in length. After that whenever you sign in you will be asked to select three random characters from your memorable word.

Of course you'll still have full access to your account by telephone for dealing and service from our friendly staff on 08456 185 190.

Will I be asked to provide identity documents?

Wherever possible we will verify your identity electronically. In the event that we cannot do this, we will ask you to provide two forms of identification – full details will be provided at the time.

How can I fund my account?

There are several ways you can fund your account:

  • By cheque – please make cheques payable to The Share Centre.
  • By debit card – you can register your debit card online and top up your account anytime. Alternatively you can pay in by phone by calling our customer service team between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • By Direct Debit – please call our customer service team on 08456 185 190 between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and we will send a direct debit form to you
  • By BACS/CHAPS – Please contact our customer service team for further information.

Will I continue to receive regular statements?

Yes. The Share Centre will issue you with half yearly portfolio valuations and cash statements, together with our magazines The Shareholder and The Fundholder, which are packed with investment ideas.

What will happen to my dividend income?

The Share Centre lets you choose whether you want your dividend income paid out to you quarterly, reinvested in shares, or retained within your account. The standard option is to retain, but you can easily change this by calling our customer service team on 08456 185 190 between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

What if I do not want an account with The Share Centre?

The Share Centre is committed to providing you with a high level of service and what we consider to be great value. However, if you do wish to transfer to another broker, simply contact us in writing at any time. You can transfer your investments and cash to another broker free of any administration charges, provided you let us know by 14 April 2010. You’ll need to contact the other broker so they can guide you through the transfer process. But please give us a chance to impress you before you decide.
